Dentures & Partials
Missing teeth make a smile incomplete. Their absence causes many other problems, from lowered self-confidence as well as difficulty speaking and eating and even jawbone deterioration. At Vevera Family Dental we do not think you should lose sight of your smiles potential. Technology and dental advances have made partial and full dentures more comfortable and life-like than they have ever been.
What is a Partial?
Commonly referred to as simply a partial, partial dentures are made up of multiple teeth on a base that is gum colored. Within your existing teeth this fits like a puzzle where the teeth are spread across a base rather than in a row. Normally secured with brackets or clips, a partial is removable unlike a bridge.
What is a Denture?
Mounted on a gum-colored base; a full denture is a complete bottom or top set of teeth. Dentures come as opened or closed palate, either type may require denture adhesive to hold them in place.
Implant-Supported Dentures and Partials
Dental implants are small titanium posts anchored into the jawbone. If you do not want clips or adhesive and prefer a secure full or partial denture, then implant-supported dentures should be a consideration. An implant dentist can secure a few posts for dental implants that will hold your dentures in place in a brief surgery. With implant-supported dentures, you won’t have to worry about slippage, and your prosthetic will feel safe and sound.
