About Bonding and Fillings
Cosmetic bonding and restorative fillings are two procedures commonly used at Vevera Family Dental to correct aesthetic as well as oral health issues ranging from, but not limited to chipped or uneven teeth and teeth with a cavities. Both procedures restore the teeth, although the two procedures use specific compounds and unique processes to achieve the ultimate result of a beautiful health smile.
Imperfect teeth are a quite common. For teeth that are chipped, slightly uneven, or are in need of cosmetic restoration, bonding may be an excellent choice, and it can be done in one appointment. Dr. Vevera will apply a putty-like composite resin, made to appear natural and similar to your existing teeth color and rebuild an attractive shape for your tooth. With a curing light, Dr. Vevera will harden the resign, then sculpt and polish the restoration. With binding, you can have a beautiful new smile in one short visit! An affordable alternative to porcelain veneers, one thing to consider is that cosmetic bonding will last up to 10 years with proper car. Over time, teeth whitening may be a consideration in order to keep your natural teeth the same shade as the area that has undergone cosmetic binding.
Restorative fillings are usually made with composite or porcelain. Cutting edge technology uses plastic compounds and ceramic that have a very close appearance to your natural teeth. This type of material is typically used on the front teeth because a natural look is very important in this area. Indirect and Direct fillings are the two different types used. Two or more visits are usually required for indirect fillings. Crowns, inlays, bridges, veneers, and onlays are fabricated with gold, base metal alloys, ceramics, or composites. Direct fillings are placed directly into a prepared and this procedure only requires one visit.
